The Beckhams: "We do not deny that we promote ourselves as a happily married couple. We say that because it's true."
David and Victoria Beckham are going in court to defend their marriage, over the claims that they have "cynically" presented a false image to the public to protect their lucrative advertising deals intact.

The couple sued newspaper News of the World for publishing an article last year named "Posh & Becks on Rocks" (on September 12), which claims, quoting the couple former nanny Abbie Gibson, that their marriage has ended.
The second story published by the newspaper claims that David's former personal assistant Rebecca Loos had an affair with the Real Madrid superstar, while Victoria was away on business.
The defense lawyer Spearman says the couple stayed together only for the advertising contract they both have signed.
"Because their substantial fortunes depend upon their public perception, the claimants have been cynically and hypocritically trying for financial reasons to convince the public that they continue to enjoy a happy marriage," Richard Spearman stated.
"The true position is that their marriage has been rocked and seriously damaged by the first claimant's (David's) infidelity and betrayal of the second claimant (Victoria), leading to inevitable tensions and rows between them," he added
Victoria and David Beckham hit back, through a statement delivered by their legal representative Hugh Tomlinson.
He declared on their behalf: "We do not deny that we promote ourselves as a happily married couple. We say that because it's true."
