Breaking news: Lindsay Lohan likes to have her photo taken by the paparazzi because it lets her know people care about her. In other shocking news, water is wet and bee stings suck.

The fire-crotched starlet tells U.S. magazine Nylon she's usually happy to show her good side to the photogs, as long as it's not at an incontinent time, like when she's totally wasted attending AA meetings.

"I get embarrassed about the paparazzi if I'm in a chic restaurant, or when I was in the AA meetings. I feel really disrespectful because those people are doing that for themselves and it's no one else's business," she tells the magazine. "But that was the only time it was embarrassing. Other times, I obviously like it... I wouldn't ever want them to not take my picture ... I'd be worried. I'd be like 'Do people not care for me?'"

The 20-year-old tabloid queen goes on to say her hard-partying ways are only a result of the isolation she feels from being a famous trainwreck actress.

"Though it's hard in L.A. not to go out, it gets lonely," she says. "Being an actress is lonely, and I never want to be alone. I hate sleeping alone."
The Paris Hilton nemesis also reveals she finally felt safe during her recent, unplanned, month-long stay at the Wonderland rehab centre in Hollywood.

"I just felt safe," she tells Nylon. "I thought, 'I'm going to stay here tonight.' And I stayed there. For a month. It was great."
