Kellan Christopher Lutz (born March 15, 1985) is an American film and television actor, who is best known for playing Emmett Cullen in the 2008 film Twilight. Before acting, he was an Abercrombie & Fitch model.

Lutz is the middle child of one sister and six brothers. He was born in Dickinson, North Dakota, and was raised throughout North Dakota, the Midwest, and Arizona. He started modeling when he was 13 or 14 years old. After graduating high school he moved to California to attend Chapman University for chemical engineering, but later decided to pursue an acting career instead. Had he not chosen this path, however, he also considered becoming a Navy SEAL.

In Lutz's free time, he likes to take part in extreme skateboarding, weight training, track, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, swimming, tennis, racquetball, badminton, snow skiing, snowboarding, dance, and numerous other activities. He also has a passion for horror movies, and prefers to perform his own stunts when making films.

Lutz has close friendships with his Twilight co-stars, particularly Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone, who he knew before the movie began filming. He says that his 23rd birthday was spent with the cast, saying, "I hung out with the cast of Twilight and went on a crazy adventure with a loony cab driver." Lutz has been linked to 90210 actress AnnaLynne McCord, but she denies that they have any kind of romantic relationship, saying that she has known Lutz since she was 16 and that they are just friends.
